Long Market is one of the most representative places Gdańsk. Square is an extension of Long Street is located on the main town, has a distinctive spatial arrangement and has always been a part of the city inhabited by the wealthiest of the people of Gdańsk. The owners of the townhouses were patricians, merchants and those who was held by high office, which is simply highly placed. Another term is the Royal Route, which was created through solemn parades taking place there in the years 1457-1552. Long Market is also a long and very interesting history. The fourteenth and fifteenth century is the time when every Saturday traded meat, selling live pigs, hence the name Market Piglets (the so-called stretch between the town hall and the Fountain of Neptune). On the agenda they were also executions of witches, heretics and other evildoers of noble origin, because ordinary citizens were lost on Torture or on the Mount Gallows. During the war, much of the building was destroyed.
